Starting from Bellus3D ARC Installer version 1.10 and above, we support exporting your files to a Network Drive (NAS drive or Shared Folder on another Windows machine). Please follow the instructions below to set up.
Please make sure you finish Step 1-5 before starting ARC Installer. If you already started it, please go to Task manager to kill ARC Host process first.
Step 1. Please make sure all the devices are connected to the same Internet/Wifi
Step 2. Set up a NAS network drive
Set up a shared folder on another Windows machine by right clicking the folder -> Give access to -> Specific people
Type in Everyone and click Share
You should be able to see your shared drive path as shown below
Step 3. On the laptop where you Installed Bellus3D ARC Installer, go to File Explorer -> Network -> Type the Path "\\SURFACEPRO6-JIA\test", hit Enter
Step 4. It will prompt you a Window to enter your user name and password to access the shared folder. Check Remember my credentials so that you don't have to enter again. Please note: you need to append your other laptops name and a back slash as prefix to your actual user name to be able to log in. And if it was pre-filled with wrong username, you need to click More Choices to enter the correct User Name
Step 5. Now you should be able to access the files in the shared folder Please make sure that this step is correct before starting ARC Scan App
Step 6. Please go to Setting -> Configuration -> Model Export. Edit the output folder path to "\\SURFACEPRO6-JIA\test" and click Save.
If the folder doesn't exist, you will see the dialogue box shown as below. Please make sure you can access the folder as in Step 5 first.
Step 7. Double click the Bellus3D launcher shortcut on the desktop to start your scan. After you have exported the scan, you should be able to see the results in the network drive folder
Starting from version 1.16.0, we have improved reliability of exporting to network drive feature and allow background export operation after network drive is reconnected.
